This infographic explains how Titanic sank. First, the five sections of the ship flooded and lifted the ship to 45 degrees. The stem then rose out of water as it sank slowly.
The stats show that 38% deaths were in the first class while most of the crew died, the figure being 77% of the crew. 75% of the third class passengers while 59% of the second class died. 703 people managed to survive the sinking ship.
Five out of six children from first class were saved while all 24 children from second class were saved. Only 37 children made it out of Titanic from 79 children in the third class. Similarly, most women lost belonged to third class passenger category. In total, only 32% survived. The infographic provides exact numbers for each passenger category, listing total passengers boarded, number of deaths, and total survivors.
